University of Kentucky College of Medicine: Clinical Approaches and Scientific Advances in Ophthalmology
As a complimentary continuing education module for our Department, we are pleased to continue our new "Translational Minisymposium" format for Grand Rounds that will occur throughout the current academic year. In this re-engineered format, we have invited two world-renowned visiting speakers to engage in a combined clinical/basic science lecture series with a unified theme. One of the lecturers will have expertise in a particular clinical problem while the other participant will be an expert in a related research discipline that entails the molecular pathogenesis of the related clinical entity. We will schedule to have two lecturers speak within the currently allocated 2 hour period that is typically devoted to imaging conference and Grand Rounds. Similarly, the lectures will be given in a round-table discussion style format in order to spur further intellectual development, clinical and scientific collaboration, and interactive idea exchange on the topic in question. This unique and complementary strategy of merging these two important aspects of disease pathogenesis and clinical management will undoubtedly provide a unique offering in faculty, fellow, resident, and medical student education. To RSVP for these events, please contact Olivia Turner by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by telephone at (859) 218-2631.
We hope you are able to visit with us to enjoy this world-class educational program!
