Medical Retina Fellowship

The University of Kentucky Department of Ophthalmology offers a comprehensive 1-year Medical Retina fellowship. We are a state referral institution with an extremely high volume of retinal patients with common and complex conditions. The fellowship takes place in our state-of-the-art clinic in the retina, uveitis, and ophthalmic-genetics services with the supervision and training of eight full-time faculty members. An optional perk of our program is to allow the fellow to do cataract surgery two days per month with one of our faculty members. The fellow will also have the opportunity to teach our residents and medical students in the clinic or lectures. A significant amount of research opportunities are available in retinal imaging, uveitis, and inherited eye diseases.
